Deadline

Deadline, originally uploaded by boredomsketch.

Hello!

This is my take on Deadline theme. My idea was using a symbol of time, but one that doesn’t comeback, often used in games, like pictionary.
After some drawing i arrived at a thumb that i liked, and quickly did a sketch on my sketchbook.

Mystery

Mystery, originally uploaded by boredomsketch.

Hello!
This is my take on Mystery, this week theme on hungryforlines blog, http://www.hungryforlines.com

I had the idea after i read the definition in the dictionary, specially with the word mýstes, the one that closes, the one who keeps secret.
We all have our mysteries, either to find or to be found.

I started with some sketches, figuring out if my idea as interesting as it seems in my head.

Mystery - Sketch

After this quick sketches, i started drawing, with pencil on a A4 paper and after that inked the drawing with a brush.
Below, some photos of the drawing and close ups.

The Ink Forest

The Ink Forest, originally uploaded by boredomsketch.

Hello!

This is my take on the landscape theme.
While thinking on what i would like to aproach, two things came to my mind. Trees and ink, :D.
And after a few thumbs i remembered the exhibition of Mattoti i had seen in Bologna, while visiting the Children's Book Fair. You can take a look at him, drawing and talking about it, here.

So after watching it, i just wanted to dive in the ink and draw!
I did a quick pencil sketch for composition purposes.

After that it was all ink and watching what happened in the paper.

Hungry For Lines

hungrylines, originally uploaded by boredomsketch.

Hello!

This is my first work for the collective blog called Hungry For Lines.
Each week we have a theme to work on, possibly a suggestion from one of the blog visitors.
With this weekly theme we will provide 6 posts.
Each of these posts will provide a creative insight of the theme.
This creative insight may be in the form of drawing, painting, design… Well however we want!

Like the illustration says, drawing is a genuine happiness maker, at least for me!
Initially the ideia was just a mad hungry artist, but when i was drawing the sketch to test my idea, a lot of ideas came up, and even in the inking stage. This made me to add lots of little details, like the posters, and icons on the chairs.

This is the sketch, next to the final drawing.

The sketch and the final

In the end i had a "drawingholic place", hehe.
Done with pencil, inked with a brush, on a A3 paper.

Marvel Medusa Fanart

Marvel Medusa Fanart, originally uploaded by boredomsketch.

My participation on Ricardo Venâncio's project Fist Full Of FanArt.
In this project, every new post must be connect with the one before.
So i did some research about the Super Skrull that Pedro Poitier did.
I choose to draw Medusa, Queen of the Inhumans, which also created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.
Besides that, Inhumans and Skrulls had also a recent "entanglement" on Secret Invasion.

After my research i did a few sketches and i finally arrived at an idea that i liked.

After that, i pencilled the drawings, medusa, and a smaller one with the Skrull being slapped by Medusa's hair. I used a brush to ink them both.

After that, i scanned the drawings and colored it digitally.

Thanks to Ricardo Venâncio for inviting me, and to my friend André De Lima Carvalho, for the advises and knowledge of Medusa character :)

Take care,
André
